Daemon Trailer Bleeding Edge
Daemon releases the Skeleton Key in his character trailer.
The Skeleton Key was a specialized computer hacking program designed and implemented by Daemon against the Human Augment Systems (HA Systems) corporation, causing "the biggest corporate data breach in history." The name refers to both the hack itself, and the incident surrounding it: the data breach and resulting fallout.
On July 18, 2050, Daemon infiltrated an HA Systems complex and successfully uploaded the Skeleton Key into the company's systems with relatively minor resistance. The hack cracked the company's cyber-security wide open and released vast stores of corporate data and cybernetic schematics to the public. On top of airing the company's dirty laundry, this "illegal hacking" led to an explosion of cybernetic technology available on the black market, moreso than previous to the hack, allowing anyone to get access to top-of-the-line cyberware without going through official channels.
According to Daemon, he released the Skeleton Key as "revenge" for the death of his mother and as the culmination of long training and preparation, a critical blow against "a system and corporate society that failed him [and his family]." In the wake of the Skeleton Key's successful release, in the name of "redemption," Daemon promptly went on to found the "Bleeding Edge" gang.
